Over and done.

Working at the elementary school was fun while it lasted.  I was happy to get home though, and have some time to myself before the kids came home for the summer. These are a few of the highlights I had while there for that short time.

My job was to pull children out of the classroom 1to 2 at a time and quiz them on the information they were going to be tested on for the state standardized testing.  I would come into the room and the teacher would ask me who I would like to take next.  One day, the class was sitting as a group when I came in.  The teacher asked me who I would like. I responded with 2 names.  One little boy who wasn't chosen said, "I thought you would like me.  I'm kind of funny."

While working with one boy who had a difficult time concentrating, I started to get a little frustrated and told him that he needed to sit still.  His response was,"I'll try."  His answer made me smile.

After I was done with quizzing the children, I let them spend a few minutes playing with me. They enjoyed it. One left me a sweet picture on the wipe board.
